Current Learning at Home Activities

In this section you will find resources to support your child to continue their learning at home. The resources and suggested activities can be used alongside the curriculum maps which can be found under the EYFS and KS1 curriculum tabs within Learning at Woodfield.

Each year group has a separate booklet but please feel free to look at the activities from the other booklets too.

The activities contained within the booklets will, where possible, follow some aspects of the curriculum that would have been taught in school and will be things that can be readily resourced and carried out at home. Be kind to yourselves, we are not expecting you to recreate a school environment at home. There is also no expectation that you do any or all of these activities; we’ve had some parents contact us to say that they are following their own version of learning at home-that is absolutely fine! What we would ask though is that you do focus on the Value of the week and the R of the week; these are things that we have been focusing on as a whole school and we would like these to continue as we feel that they link very well to the current situation that we all find ourselves in.

We do not require any work is sent into school but if you would like to share what you have been doing, we have sent up our new Twitter page for exactly that reason. Here is the link: https://twitter.com/InfantWoodfield Mrs Rutherford and I are regularly monitoring the page and are responding to any posts as soon as we can. We have also set up new class emails; more guidance on this will follow next week.

We’ve had a very positive response to the first learning at home booklet sent out last week, thank you for responses. Parents have commented that the activities have struck just the right balance and allow them to have a manageable approach to learning at home; so that on some days they can read stories, play games and make contact with family and friends using technology without feeling like they are not doing the right thing.

If you would like a hard copy of the weekly pack, we are putting copies in the reception pod for you to collect. Please pop in and help yourself. They will be available from late morning on the Monday of each week.
