School Uniform Policy
School Uniform (excluding nursery)
At Woodfield, we take pride in the children's appearance. Our uniform is comfortable for children while they work whilst also being smart and helping the children to develop a sense of belonging within school. In order to keep cost down for parents, we have a flexible list of possibilities, so most uniform items can be purchased from supermarkets and other stores.
For our children who attend our nursery there is no requirement for uniform.
Uniform options for the children can be selected from the following list:
- White polo shirt or collared shirt
- Dark blue polo shirt
- Black or grey trousers, smart shorts, skirt or pinafore dress
- Blue and white gingham dress
- Blue school jumper or cardigan with logo
- White or blue polo shirt with logo
- White, black or grey socks
- White, black, grey or blue tights
- Black smart school shoes which protect the child's feet, and which they can do up themselves - velcro is ideal!
Book bags are available for children to bring reading books to and from school. Please do not send children with large back packs as we do not have the space to store them.
Our school uniform is available to purchase directly from our local supplier, Decostitch. Please visit this website for full details. Your uniform orders can be sent to your home address or you can collect from their premises at Battlefield.
Our PTFA offer a wide range of pre-loved uniform. Please contact the PTFA by clicking this link.
For PE lessons, children can select from the following can can be purchased from any local shop or supermarket:
- Plain white t-shirt or polo shirt
- Dark coloured shorts or jogging bottoms
- A plain, dark coloured hoodie is also optional for colder days outside
- Trainers that children can do up themselves - again, velcro is ideal! (Black indoor pumps are not required - when children are inside for PE, they will be in bare feet)
Long hair must be tied back and earrings removed. This is in line with Safe Practice in Physical Education and Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA 2024). Children will not be able to participate in PE if earrings are not removed.
We encourage children to drink plenty of water throughout the school day, therefore we also ask that you provide your child with a water bottle to use in school, please do not send in juice. We are able to refill bottles up if the children drink all of their water.
We also ask that children have a coat with them each day so that they can go outside. With the changeable weather we experience in the UK, the temperature can sometimes drop between dropping off time and lunchtime so it is important that children have coats with them.
As you will imagine, when we have 270 young children in school, it can be hard to rehome items of clothing, book bags and water bottles when they get mislaid. Therefore, we ask that you put your child's name inside every item of clothing so that we can return it should it get lost. Many thanks.
