Clubs
Extra-Curricular Clubs
As a school, we offer a wide range of clubs to offer children a chance to extend their learning or try a new activity. Clubs are offered to children in Year 1 and Year 2. Some take place after school and some during lunchtimes, which enables as many children as possible to be able to attend. Some clubs run every term, some change throughout the year. In the last year, we have offered the following clubs:
Fitness Recorders
Art Cheerleading
Choir Gymnastics
Gardening French
Quicksticks hockey
Dig it! (run by Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery)
Tennis (run by Woodfield Tennis Club)
Some of these clubs include the opportunity for children to take part in additional events. For example, the children in choir club have taken part in Shropshire Sings with children from across the county as well as several other local events. The children in Gardening Club entered the Shrewsbury Flower Show for the first time in 2019 and won first prize in the schools' competition for raised beds and the People's Choice Award for the best school garden. The children in Dig it! also have the chance to attend a session at Shrewsbury Museum to handle museum artefacts and see some of the larger exhibits. Cheerleading club have performed at school events, including opening the Christmas Fair with a brilliant entertaining routine.
If you would like details of clubs running this term, please contact the school office team, who will be happy to give you more information.
