Medication at School and our First Aiders

Can my child go to school today?

It can be tricky deciding whether or not to keep your child off school or nursery when they're unwell.

There are government guidelines for schools and nurseries about health protection and managing specific infectious diseases at GOV.UK. These say when children should be kept off school and when they shouldn't.

If you do keep your child at home, please phone us on the first day by 9.00 am to let us know your child won't be in school.

Medicine in School

Under the Guidelines on the “Administration of medication to pupils in schools” the administrative team are only permitted to give prescribed medication if required four times a day (school will administer one dose). Parents will be asked to complete a parental agreement for school to administer medication form.

Please ensure prescribed medication is in a clearly marked box/bottle from a doctor stating the child's name and dosage. If any medication is required at school it is a parent’s responsibility to ensure that the school is informed as it must be brought to the School Office and not sent into school with your child.

Our First Aiders

We have a number of first aid trained staff within our nursery, school and wraparound care provision.

Head Bumps

We have recently reviewed our policy for head bumps and have implemented a new procedure to ensure that all parents and staff are informed when children bump their head during the school day.  Our policy can be read below.
