Special Days at Woodfield
Youth Awareness Day 2025
We are excited to announce that our school will be celebrating Youth Awareness Day 2025 on Thursday 16th October. Youth Awareness Day is a powerful new campaign designed to spotlight the needs and potential of young people across Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin.
Launched by Jane Trowbridge, High Sheriff of Shropshire, and led by the young people of the county this initiative encourages schools, businesses, and the wider community to come together in support of youth-focused causes.
This special day is dedicated to empowering our children through a variety of teamwork challenges and games, designed to build confidence, collaboration, and community spirit.
To mark the occasion, we invite all children to wear blue to school and help raise funds for our Shropshire Youth Community. If you are able to donate, please do so by following the link here to a Just Giving Page.
We look forward to a day that celebrates the energy, creativity, and potential of our young people.
Parliamentary Week and our visit by the Member of Parliament
We had a fantastic time learning all about democracy when it was Parliamentary Week. Our MP, Julia Buckley came to visit us and spoke to all of the classes asking lots of questions.
We hope you like our photos.

Severn Hospice Rudolph Relay Fundraiser
The children of Woodfield Infant School and Nursery raised funds to support the local Severn Hospice. At the time of writing we had raised a massive £1148 and this figure continues to grow. What a fantastic way to bring our school values to life; Happily Learning Together. Be Kind. Be Responsible. Be Hardworking. This is the Woodfield Way.
Chillzoners spreading Christmas Cheer
In collaboration with Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, children from our Chillzone breakfast and afterschool club have been busy designing Christmas Cards and writing thoughtful festive messages which will be sent to those who may be lonely over Christmas.
Remembrance
Woodfield and St. George’s children all gathered on the playground at St. George’s at 11am this morning to observe a minute silence for Remembrance Day. Please take a look below at how we paid our respects.
Harvest Festival
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 went to St George's Church to celebrate the Harvest Festival. Rev. Tim talked to the children about how God provides for us all, and that we are all linked by an invisible ribbon from the food we eat to the chef, the supermarket, the lorry driver and the farmer. We thought about how we had also been the provider for others by donating food to those that need it.
The school sang some wonderful songs, led by Mrs Sequeira and the choir. Please take a listen to our fantastic singing.
Thank You Lord
